The usable depth inside the shadow box is 7/8 of an inch. While the overall rabbet depth is 1 1/8 inches, the usable depth accounts for the space taken up by the acrylic front and acid-free backing. That means you have approximately 7/8" of interior space to display your items securely and beautifully within the frame.
